Implementation of PARS System is Underway!

We are excited to announce that the University has begun a project to implement a new PARS effort reporting system! Representatives from the Budget Office, the VP of Research's office, the Provost's Office and ERP have teamed up with our strategic partner, Cedar Crestone, to design and implement the new streamlined, web-based effort reporting application within the OMNI HR system.
Some of the great features of the new system will include:

  • Electronic Workflow Certifications
  • Hyperlinks to supporting data and elimination of unnecessary data elements
  • Improve/create capabilities for tracking committed effort and cost sharing for research

In addition to the effort reporting system, the project team has also been asked to analyze the current Faculty Assignment of Responsibility (AOR) process across campus, to determine how we might be able to create an automated facility for capturing and managing the AOR forms and facilitating the process for departments. Since the AOR form is often utilized during the PARS process, we are looking to see how the AOR and PAR forms could tie together to further enhance this business life cycle.
The target rollout for the new PARS system is January 2009, with the certification of the Fall 2008 academic term. Once the analysis of the AOR process is complete, the team will determine when and how an AOR system might come online.
More details regarding the great new system are to come, stay tuned!
