New Version of UPK Gives Training a Facelift!

Oracle's User Productivity Kit, a training development tool currently used by FSU's training designers, has been upgraded to a new version! This new version produces a sleek, cutting-edge design for end-users and dramatically reduces development time!

We will also be implementing the University's new color scheme into OMNI Training Online Tutorials. You will notice some of the pages of the OMNI Training site and Online Tutorials have slightly changed. The procedure, however, for viewing tutorials will remain the same. Remember you must first expand each section of the tutorial using the plus sign, then click on a specific topic, and choose a playback mode - See It, Try It, Know It, Do It, or now... as a new feature... Print It!

Print It! mode will allow you to view a PDF form of the procedures outlined in the tutorials in a Quick Reference Guide format. Although this printable option does not contain screen shots, it does produce a helpful step-by-step instruction guide.

Here are some of the primary benefits of the new and improved UPK:

  • Visually appealing outputs
  • Print It! mode easily allows users to print tutorials
  • Search for tutorials using keywords
  • Do It! mode available for Internet Explorer users
  • Help links from within OMNI direct users to relevant UPK tutorials
  • Tutorials now supported in Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer 8

Additional features for use by content developers include:

  • Reduced development time via auto-record functionality
  • Copy and paste frames
  • Enhanced re-record functionality
